Zurich Airport Brasil informs that it will build a new runway at Macaé Airport and will keep the current passenger terminal in operation.
 

In this way, the project to build a new terminal, at this moment, will be discontinued. The adequacy will ensure greater efficiency for offshore aviation operations and, consequently, the high potential for economic development provided by the sector.

The new runway project also involves raising the level of operational safety, helping to develop commercial aviation.  

Macaé Airport is the main airport for offshore aviation in the country and, month after month, operations have exceeded expectations. In December this year, Macaé will be responsible for 55% of all flights serving the Campos Basin. 
 

Zurich Airport Brasil reinforces its commitment to Macaé Airport, understanding the reflection of the airport operation in the development of the city and people, a premise that is in the company's Mission. The concessionaire clarifies that the construction of the new runway is in accordance with the obligations of the concession contract with the regulatory agency.
