This Thursday afternoon (23), the board of Zurich Airport Brasil was in Macaé to present the new airport brand, the result of research and analysis of the city's landscape and local strength. The event also marked the holding of Offshore Day, a moment of immersion in the business with the main players in the sector.

The new brand positioning brings in its visual identity the representativeness of the city and, in one of the lines that make up the logo, the path from the airport to an oil platform, symbolizing the strength of the offshore in the composition of the most important activity in Macaé: the oil, gas and energy sector.

Of Swiss origin, the administrator insisted on valuing the city, strengthening its mission to develop business and the places where it operates. The creation process sought a conceptual unity in the identity of all the company's airports – Florianópolis, Macaé and Vitória.

Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brasil, presented the airport's positive results in this initial concession period, such as the record of offshore movement since the beginning of the administration, with a total of 2.682 flights in May, which represents an increase of 77% compared to January 2020. And the projection for this year is to reach 3 thousand operations per month. Gesse also showed that Macaé Airport conquered, this year, the position of main operator of the Campos Basin, being responsible for about 36% of the movements in the region.

“The future is promising. We have a differentiated and adequate infrastructure for operators and we are committed to the development of the airport. With the new brand, we want to be increasingly connected with the city and consolidate ourselves as the offshore hub of Brazil”, he said.

Offshore Day

On the occasion, the airport administrator also provided participants with an in-depth knowledge of offshore. The Offshore Day featured a lecture by Francilmar Fernandes, Prio's Operations Director (PetroRio), and a panel discussion with representatives from Firjan, Prio, Convention Bureau, Tepor, ACIM and City Hall.

On behalf of Zurich Airport Brasil, in addition to the CEO Ricardo Gesse, the Director of Operations, Fabio Marques, was present. The Municipality of Macaé was represented by the Secretary of Economic Development, Rodrigo Viana.
